Carving a hillside

Children’s Garden

This garden was designed as an active place for the client’s four small children to play. The design offers visual interest and creates usable spaces by carving out of the existing hillside. Cor-ten steel, woven willow panels and lawn form sculpted terraces. When viewed from above, these elements produce a graphic composition, becoming tactile and dimensional when experienced at ground level.
